For more than a decade, Greenwich families have awakened early on Mother's Day and instead of making mom breakfast in bed, have headed out for the annual Mother's Day Bike Ride. It was started as a way to educate kids and adults about good biking behavior, how to share the road and how to maintain safe equipment, the event run by the Old Greenwich-Riverside Community Center has exploded into a morning of family fun and entertainment The event starts and finishes at the Old Greenwich Elementary School, and while the day is about having fun, bike safety is still the important message.
