Clearview Capital portfolio acquires Deep South Poultry

Clearview Capital , a private investment firm based in Old Greenwich, announced Friday the acquisition of Deep South Poultry by Clearview's portfolio company QC Supply. Terms of the acquisition were not released.

Following a Parking Lot Crash, Driver Faces DUI Charge

A Greenwich man is facing a driving under the influence charge following a car crash earlier this month in the Hyatt Regency Greenwich parking lot in Old Greenwich. Greenwich Police obtained an arrest warrant that also charged the driver with evading responsibility in connection with the June 2 crash that occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Michael A. Karaffa, 60, of 21 Sherman Ave., surrendered at police headquarters on June 22, according to a police report.

Greenwich Summer Concert Series Starts Wednesday

The Bob Button Orchestra will perform at Binney Park on Wednesday, June 24, as part of the Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation free summer concert series. The 90-minute concert begins in the park on Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich 7:15 p.m. The rain date is Thursday, June 25. The popular 12-piece orchestra will present a program of Big Band classics as originally recorded by the famous bands of the Swing Era.

John T. Bykowski, 69, Of Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. John T. Bykowski, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died Tuesday, June 16. He was 69. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 1964 and worked as a carpenter at the Electrolux Corporation in Old Greenwich, Conn., eventually going into business as a self-employed carpenter.

Malloy Signs 'Emily's Law' for Teen Boaters

Gov. Dannel Malloy has signed the bill named "Emily's Law," in memory of the Old Greenwich teen killed in a boating accident last summer, that will impose stricter regulations on teen boat operators. The law - which takes effect Oct. 1 - will prohibit young teenage boaters from towing water skiers or tubers, and require the training of all boaters in proper towing techniques.
