The Greenwich Police Department has hired two new officers who will be sworn in at a Town Hall ceremony Wednesday, Oct. 1. The new officers are Shane T. Geary of Norwalk, and Matthew T. Swift of Old Greenwich. The officers will fill vacancies created by the recent retirements of Det.

Robert Connolly, 45, of Shore Road in Old Greenwich, told Village Cleaners at 9 Tokeneke Rd. on July 25 that he'd forgotten his wallet but needed the tailored and cleaned suit they had for him, so it was agreed he could take the suit and return later with the $70, according to police.
