Greenwich community band has strong roots

General Contractor Cited for Dumping Substance into River

A general contractor with a crew working on a home under construction on Durkin Place in Old Greenwich was issued a misdemeanor summons Thursday for the alleged illegal dumping of a substance into a nearby river, according to police. The GC's identity was not disclosed, but they were charged with discharging without a permit, and they will be responsible for the cost of cleaning it up.

Police Investigate Old Greenwich Car Burglary

The owner of a 2015 Toyota RAV4 went out to her car early Tuesday to find that someone had stolen items she left inside the vehicle. The theft from the vehicle parked on West End Avenue was reported shortly before 6 a.m. Aug. 11. The owner reported that $100 cash, a Garmin GPS device and a gym membership card were swiped from vehicle, according to Greenwich Police.

Dolphins Spotted In Waters Off Greenwich Point

A pod of dolphins was observed off Greenwich Point on Sunday providing a show for a local family in the right place at the right time according to The Connecticut Post.
